What is Protent™?

Protent™ is a Web-based Content Management System (CMS) that you use to edit your website. You don't have to install anything because it is a Web-based Application and everything happens in your web browser. Your website is hosted for you and you pay monthly for the service. When Protent™ gets an update, you get the update too.

Who uses Protent™?

Everybody and Anybody. Protent™ is specifically designed for Web Designers and Developers who are in need of not only a Web Standards and Compliant CMS solution, but also working with a company that knows both sides of the equation - design and the coding. Any Business can also use Protent™ because it’s so darn easy.

I am a Business that would like to use Protent™ but I also need a design. What now?

If you don’t have a designer, the folks at Genevate who created Protent™can help you with a design, or we can find you preferred designers who use Protent™ exclusively.

Can I host Protent™ on my own server?

Protent™ is a hosted application, so we don't offer installable versions, not at this time. However, this means that you don't have to worry about server maintenance, the security, and updates and improvements to the Protent™ system.

Does Protent provide email?

Yes, we do! We can set up your POP3 email and host that as well.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes! Most domain name registrars will allow you to point your domain name at our server, or we can facilitate it for you. You can also purchase domain names through us if you choose to do so.

Can I use an existing website design?

As long as the design is in Photoshop or CSS/XHTML files.

Can I use my own design if I am a designer?

Yes! We love partnering with Designers. Protent™ can be set up and integrated with the design, from a Photoshop or CSS/XHTML file. Contact us for rates on integration.

Do you have a Demo?

Yes we do! Go to Signup fill out the form and go for a test drive.

What are the system requirements?

Protent™ can be used with an Internet connection and any of the following web browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari. We do not support Internet Explorer 5 for Mac or PC.

Is my data backed up in case of an emergency?

Yes! Our redundant, state-of-the-art servers are professionally managed by us and in a secure setting. All data is locally backed up at our data center, as well as offsite backups. Backups occur daily and weekly.

Can we export our website if we don't want to use Protent™ anymore?

Yes, Protent™ has an export feature allowing you to download a copy of your data, images and documents as HTML.

How do you accept payment?

We bill in USD, but that can be converted through credit card/debit card easily for any currency. We never discriminate against money.

What name will appear on my credit card statement?

Genevate Corporation. Genevate is the parent company that creates, maintains and supports Protent™.

Are there any long-term contracts or sign-up fees?

All of our plans are month-to-month. There are no sign-up fees.

Can I cancel my account at any time?

Yes. We will hate to see you go, but there is no cancellation fee if you choose to cancel.
